If you right click on the taskbar, a menu should come up.
Up top it should say "Toolbars" with a small arrow that opens to another menu.
Highlight over Toolbars, which drops down the other menu...
Is there a checkmark on "Quick Launch"?

Hi, Cheeseball81, There's no checkmark on quick launch,
when i try to check it, a sign comes up......Error, you cannot
put a toolbar in the task bar......I click O. K. and the sign goes
away.......and no icons.....It won't let me check it because it thinks i want to quicklaunch a toolbar, and windows says i
can't.. chuck-HD.

Hi, Cheeseball, I think there's more going on here than meets
the eye.......When i start up my computer, now it's asking me to O.K. a password.....When i try to open up my e-mail, now
all of a sudden,,,it does'nt remember who i am......It wants
me to enter my user name,,and password......That's been
set for quite a while......I downloaded a sygate firewall, do you
think that might have something to do with it? Maybe i should
go back and restore the registry, to an earlier date?
What do you think?

That sounds like a good possibility.
I'm not familiar with Sygate so I wouldn't know what options to check.

Well, i guess i'll have to open sygate, see how everything is
set........I checked yesterday, maybe there's something i
overlooked. chuck-HD.

Hi, Guys, I uninstalled the firewall, my icons came back, and
i'm not being prompted to log-in or o.k. a password.........
Now what's happening is, when i restart my computer, a black page comes up with a bunch of stuff about something from the
registry is missing.......And i need it for a certain function.....
I'm going to do a registry check, and check the system thru
msinfo32. chuck-HD.
