I'm trying to root a windows install, I load a linux boot cd and and need to edit files on a windows partition so I "mount -t ntfs /dev/sda2 /mnt/windows --rw" and mtab shows that it is mounted rw but when i go to replace a file it comes up and says that it is read only.

any ideas?
