Hello, ever since I had my computer, I was never able to pull up mozilla firefox. The download installation goes through but when I try to get on the internet, it will not do anything. Nothing comes up at all

Leaving alone for a minute the problem with Firefox, although it may be related, please assure me that you are not really running a computer without any anti-virus programme

Go Start, Programs, Mozilla Firefox, and see if it will start in Safe Mode.

I just realised the possible small mix-up with my last post, you have started Firefox in Safe Mode and NOT the computer - please confirm

Is this the only way I can use Firefox, through safe mode? How do I use Firefox without using safe mode? I had installed WOTs to let me know what sites are dangerous and good, but it doesn't work on Firefox. I can I keep everything the same, but just using firefox instead of internet explorer?

when you told me to pull up mozilla in safe mode. I went ahead and installed firefox and than went to start> programs and went to mozilla and went to safe mode, and it works. But if I don't use safe mode, it will not work at all

Just wanted to check that it was Firefox ONLY in Safe Mode and not F8 Safe Mode with networking.
XP Safe Mode loads only a minimal set of drivers etc and it could have been a corrupt profile etc in XP that was stopping Firefox.
See this and work your way through the add-ons, plug ins. etc. It is undoubtedly one of these that is stopping Firefox, but as you have only just installed it, the cause will BE ON YOUR COMPUTER file system, rather than on Firefox. Most likely your Firewall set-up or Anti-virus
