Notepad opens only the top blue title bar. Notepad files can be opened with Word pad, MS Word, Excel, Firefox.

Does this happen even with the window maximized?

No, notepad full screen is visible and readable.

My guess, then, is that the non-maximized window is shrunk to just the size of the Title Bar. Try dragging a corner to re-size it. If that doesn't work, then I'm at a loss for an answer.

Yeah, that did it. It was shrunk to just the title bar. Thanks.
