Solved: Multimedia audio control

    Hi guys. After a complete Windows install on a new drive I can't get Multimedia audio control. There is a yellow ? in device proerties but it can't find the driver.
    Any ideas guys?

    Got any disk with the motherboard (chipset) drivers on them

    if not go to the manufacture website and get the drivers from there.

    Thanks for posting guys.
    It's not a new MB, just a new drive. And no disks came with the machine. It was one of those PCs that have a recovery partition, which ain't very good when the drive gets toasted.
    I tried the web site (Philips) but was as usefull as a chocolate fire guard, I then phoned them. They tell me there is no seperate driver for the speakers, but that they should work OK with XPs own software.

    Without knowing what brand of soundcard you have finding drivers for it would be like looking for a book you don't know the name of yet :(

    Search through any documentation that came with it and check the sound ports at the back for any sign of a manufacturer, if push comes to shove you can get the screwdriver out, open 'er up and have a nosey*.




    *Scottish word.
