for the second time this month my dvd drive has stopped responding to discs.the previous time i repaired it by a system restore, and the typical( try everything i could find in web postings).registry repairs, scans, anti spyware,etc...etc...etc.the final solution was running a burn operation in dvd decrypter's test mode.after that i was somehow back up and running.2 weeks passes, boom.now no burning programs will recognize the drive.it shows up everywhere but nothing happens when any kind of disc is inserted.i have a second read only bluray drive installed in my expansion bay that will play fine.ive done 2 things to try and resolve this problem.i bought a new rw drive, not here yet,and found several sfc scannow errors, that wouldn't self fix.is it worth it to go all out to repair the errors? or should i just wait for my new drive? i also might add ,that this p.c. windows 7,2gb,64bit,with a second operating sys. ubuntu.....oh yes, ubuntu wont boot up now either,at least without using the live disc, which doesn't recognize the burner either.
