Last night I downloaded ms explorer 5.01, everything was fine, today I start my computer and my mouse is uncontrolable, my start-up screen has icons where they are not supposed to be, windows are opening where they should not. What happened? how do I get my mouse to work properly and my graphical interface back to normal? (I am using win98)Theh only change I made was downloading explorer 5.01. And today everything is a mess. Please help!

Hi Pauline, welcome to TSG...

First off, I would recommend running a virus scan, make sure it's up to date.

Well, I must say upside down icons usually don't go with the mouse needing replaced....but, I'll go ahead and mark this solved as well as move to the hardware section.

Thanks for letting us know.

yes, upside down made me look as well.
i think Pauline may mean moved about.
Bin near the top, instead of at the bottom.

I've never heard of them upside-down.

Cheers,
John
