Hi and sorry if this sounds confusing but I was hoping I could maybe get some help. I got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses. Please let me know if you need anymore information thank you!

The Acer site should have the drivers, unless Vista is not supported.

Good luck. Is it even a genuine and legal installation of Vista?

I would try the Acer Windows 7 drivers, drivers from the adapter manufacturers, and drivers from anywhere else they can be found. Nothing to lose except some time.

Unless you really like Vista better than Windows 7 have you checked to see if you can still order eRecovery media from Acer? If available will probably cost around $20.

I didnt think of that, can they do that even if the hard drive was replaced?

That's probably the most common reason that people need to spend the extra money. Usually there is a way to make a set of DVDs for Recovery, but people don't bother doing that and then the hard drive fails.
