Hi all............I've been reading here for days on how to get my network card straightened out but to no avail....

Here goes.........I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista Home Premium on it and I formatted it and FINALLY got everything working as it wasn't easy with a broken DVD drive............But NOW I'm having an even HARDER time trying to figure out this problem.........

My Network card is showing up in the Device Manager but has an exclamation mark through it. Ok...No biggie....so I go to update the driver thinking that was the issue and apparenlty that isn't it either as it still won't work. The ERROR code is a 10. My card is a Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. Just in case somebody needs the Service Tag it is FCZ2QF

    PLEASE can somebody help??

    Thanking you all in Advance
    Karen

The service tag number has 7 characters.

Did you install Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit or 64-bit?

Here is the Dell support site that's assigned only to your Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop.

I suggest you add and save this site in your browser's favorites/bookmarks list so you can quickly refer to it when needed.

According to its system configuration section, it originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit.

It appears to have this ethernet device:

    Marvell 88E80XX 10/100 Ethernet Controller

It appears to have one of these wireless devices:

    Dell Wireless 1390/1490/1505 WLAN Mini-Card

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection -or- Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN

Note: These are the Windows Vista 32-bit drivers for all of those devices.

Yes I've been to the Dell site and it's great but how come it shows the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN there? I've tried updating that driver and it says it's up to date

This is the most current Windows Vista 32-bit driver for the Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN device.
