I have a Dell Optiplex Computer that I bought cheap. I had to wipe the drives because it had a Windows password and I couldn't find the password. So now, when I install Windows, How can I find the drivers and software to run the DVD burner/CD writer that is in it? It is the original burner.

Thanks

Software is no bigy. Drivers are. Dell is known for there use of proprietary hardware. Another words only dell makes it and no-one else. Well other do but they make it for dell only. So I would have to say check Dells web sight. For the drivers. And you will probably need other divers such as the nic and video drivers as well. Or if the CD drive is removable you maybe able to find the vendors web sight on it and get the drivers that was. However the next time you get a five finger discount on a laptop invest into a program call ERD Commander to bypass you password problems

I have not tried Deepburner yet but CDburnerXP is great. I like it better than Easy CD Creator for the things that I do.
