    Hey all -

I'm trying to get my files back to my main PC, which are stored on my backup PC via my network.

The main PC can see other computers on my network.
The backup PC can not see anything.

I can ping everything (router/printers/computers) from each of the two PCs in question.

File sharing is enabled on both PCs. I can not access either one of them from the other either via \\ipaddy or \\name.

When I do a ipconfig \all on the backup PC, here's what I get:

    Code:

I'm concerned about the NetBIOS of Tcpip, I've tried to set it to enable, either way it shows up in ipconfig as Disabled.

Furthermore, attempting to perform a repair of this adapter, it stops at "Clearing NetBT," stating that it could not be completed.

    Thanks for looking.

I am having the same problem- I think. Are you able to use a shared printer? If so, that would help me alot because then I would know exactly whats causing my problem. Thanks

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2 & Vista.

For XP, Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt.

For Vista, Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

    Reboot the machine.

Thanks guys I'll try your suggestions out. mcfee03 - I'm not sure, I can print to a network printer, I don't use any shared printers unfortunately. If I get some free time I'll try to hook up a printer to another machine and share it out.
