i am looking to purchase a new DVD drive...but i was wondering if i get one that is a dvd burner will i am assuming that it can read DVD's and i would be able to play my games that are DVD rom..correct?

The drive you have chosen will read and write DVDs and CDs, if you want to watch DVDs however you will probably need some extra software (such as PowerDVD).
