    hey guys,

I have a Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro graphics card, and i recently bought Mercenaries 2 which does not run very good on my current card, so i'm looking for a cheap (around £90) but good upgrade that would run such games on high settings hopefully, so which graphics card would you recommend?

The motherboard is Asrock 4Coredual-Sata2 R2.0, i'm not sure if i need to change that too.

    thanks for helping...

First off, is it AGP or PCI-E?

If PCI-E, order one of these before they run out of them in the sales.

    http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...a+GeForce+9600GT+512MB+PCI-E+?productId=30589

This is propably best you'll get for AGP, still great: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...ATI+Radeon+HD+3850+512MB+AGP+?productId=30898

All of these card should run the mentioned game at full or almost full graphical settings.

EDIT: Post your power supply, don't buy anything before making sure you have enough power...

    thanks for the reply

The motherboard can take both PCI-E and AGP, but from what i know PCI-E is better. but i'm not sure if the two u recommended are compatible with the motherboard i have (speed wise) or do i have to get an upgrade for that too?

power supply output is 370 watts

Well, the MB on twenga is not R2.0. Amazingly, some Revision 2, or some "-X" versions are worse than the original motherboards. Also, I'd rather trust the manufacturer's site, and most usually the motherboard's only have either AGP or PCI-E 16x(1 to 3 of them). Also, the Asrock site said it was PCI-E at 4x mode.
Still, the slot looks like a 16x slot, but even if it is, it is running at 4x speed, so it won't take full advantage of the new PCI-E cards.
The AGP card really is enough for that game. (many times better than the present one)
But, if you really want a PCI-E card, for the best performance, you'll need a new motherboard.
