OK, all that is done. How do I bring in my other folders and how do I know which identity my computer will use?

To set the new Identity as the default (so it automatically gets used for everything), click File>Identities>Manage Identities.
In the Identity Manager, Place a check by "Use this Identity when starting a program" and set the drop down to the new Identity.
Also set the "Use this Identity when a program cannot ask you to choose an Identity" to the new Identity.

Important: DO NOT REMOVE THE OLD IDENTITY AT THIS TIME!!!!
It won't hurt anything to leave it and you may discover you need to get some data from it.

To Import your messages from the old Identity, click File>Import>Messages.
    Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6>Next.
Place a tick by "Import mail from an OE6 Identity">Select the old Identity in the list>OK.
The path in the location line should automatically be filled in so click Next.
Select the folders you want to Import>Next.
When the Import is complete, click Finish.

The New Identity has downloaded all the mail that was on the server, so it's likely the mail in your Inbox that you think is from other folders are messages that previously downloaded and you moved to those folders.

How is the Identity working? Any errors or problems with it?

I imported all the folders except the inbox, which I believe I got when I set the new identity. Can I assume importing the inbox would just double what I already imported yesterday? Also, can I assume that the messages that I imported with the new identity yesterday that are from prior to this month are repeats of what I already have in my folders? I will start working with the new default identity today and will let you know how it goes. Thanks

If you already Imported, then yes, you'll just be duplicating messages you already have doing another Import.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the new Identity will solve the problems.

FYI: If you want to check what's in the old Identity, you can click File>Switch Identities to open it up.
Just be sure to switch back before closing OE as it will usually start in the last selected Identity.

It was working great all day today, really fast. Even my computer seemed to be working faster. Just before when I tried to open the inbox I got the message that it could not be displayed due to low disk space etc., one of the problems I was having earlier. I restarted the machine and got back the folder. Seems like the problem isn't gone.

How big are the individual DBX files that are in your new profile that just corrupted? What antivirus are you using?

About 675 bytes per folder. Using AVG Anti Virus. After working great for 6 or 7 hours today all symptoms have returned. I keep having to restart the computer.

675 byes would be less then an empty DBX file, are you sure it's not KB's or MB's?

Why you do have to keep restarting the computer? Are you getting other errors too?

Sorry, that was not the DBX file. How do I get that info for the new identity?
I am getting all the errors I was getting since the beginning of this thread which either freezes me out of sending or deleting a message or sometimes displaying the contents of a folder. When I restart it goes back to normal until the next error. The new identity worked great all day until late this afternoon when the errors returned.

Could you please check these 2 things and post what you find.

    1: Open My Computer>right click C:\ Drive>select Properties.
What is the Used Space and Free Space?

2: Open OE>left pane click Local Folders.
What is the "Total" for Inbox messages?

Is that the Message Store for the New Identity?
Is that Outbox.dbx size correct? If it is, do you have a boatload of messages waiting to be sent?
