Solved: No Audio Device

hi, please help, just before i reinstalled windows XP ( i had to reformat my pc) again i tried to listen to itunes but an error message came up saying something like: there is no audio device videos and songs may not work.. or something..

anyway, my speakers are all good and plugged in, but my pc cant detect an audio device.

theres no speaker icon on my toolbar
i cant listen to anything, even from headphones, any ideas? =/

with my device manager the audio hardware i have is:
audio codecs
legacy audio devices
legacy video capture devices
media control devices
unimodem half dublex audo device
video codecs



im sure the answer is simple as cake:eek:

that is the same problem I have (at least one of them) You need real help for this, I had microsoft on the phone for an hour and he couldn,t do it ! if you have a yellow ? or! I understand it might be multiple sound drivers conflicting. he said you would have to disable them one at a time and try to download the propper driver from your manufacturer,s website. (didn,t work for me)
