Hi,
There is no sound from my speakers/headphones in Windows XP however in Ubuntu I can hear everything fine.So i realized it must be a software problem.
I tried troubleshooting but it was of no help.
It all happened suddenly while I was listening songs.
There is no RED or YELLOW coloured signs on any of the devices in my Device Manager.
Installed/Uninstalled/Reinstalled drivers many times but of no use.
I also tried disabling and enabling Realtek AC97 device but that did't help too.
What could be the problem?
Virus?Registry gone wrong?
Is there any more details required?
Also I dont have any restore points :(
Please help!
thanks.

Ahh found the solution.
The Wave bar under Volume control was put to null.
Wondering how could the system make it to 0 in the middle of playing songs.
