    Hi Guys
Is there a package to overall update norton antivirus 2004? Both virus definitions and the program itself and without connecting to web.
I got connected to the internet on a friend's XP before installing SP2 and updating norton, and now norton antivirus is disappeared from tray and won't run, even after uninstalling and reinstalling.
I'm now planning to update both NAV and XP offline, because updating them through the slow dial-up is almost impossible and makes the computer vulnerable to viruses. I've got SP2. All I need now is an offline update to Norton AntiVirus.

I don't know about program updates but, when I had NAV, I frequently used the Intelligent Update feature on the Symantec website to d/l the whole definitions database, about 5.5 MB, to my desktop as an .exe file and then installed it myself by doubleclicking.

I suppose that it would, theoretically, be possible (and legal?) for someone with a licensed version of 2004 to d/l the database and burn a copy which you could install in your licensed copy. However, now that NAV uses product activation, it is possible that your friend's version of the database would not install in your copy.

Anyway, before you could even try that, you would have to successfully reinstall your copy of 2004;http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...=2004 for Windows 2000/Me/98/XP&osv=&osv_lvl=.
