Hello there,

I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if it's in the wrong session.

A friend of mine has a website, but he wanted to change it and i offered him to re-design it. I thought it's a better idea to start it from scratch (as it's quite a simple website) so that i won't get confused with someone else's script. About 2-3 days ago I wanted to check his original website to see whether I've included all the info but the website just wouldn't display. I tried it in Google Chrome, Firefox and IE but none of the browsers displayed the website. I couldn't log on the cpanel either because that page wouldn't display either - although I've been there before from the same laptop, same internet connection to download the pictures and graphic files.

I've got another laptop on the same wireless internet connection and I tried to display the old website on it but it didn't work on that either - in any of the browsers.

The website displays perfectly well for anybody else, even I can check it on my mobile phone.
Any idea what could have happened? It has never happened to me, and I don't have any problems with any other websites.

A friend of mine logged on the cpanel and my IP address is not on the block list there.

Any help is much appreciated as I'm stuck completely.

Many thanks!

Welcome to TSG! :)

While I'm not too knowledgeable in this area, I'll give you what ideas I have until someone else can pick this thread up.

You mentioned that it is a fairly simple site, do any elements require Flash or Java? Try uninstalling your current versions and downloading the most recent versions.

Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64

Java Version 6 Update 23

Also, are you able to connect to the site in Safe Mode With Networking?

How to Access Safe Mode With Networking

While the computer is turning on, tap F8 once every second until a black screen with white text appears. Using your arrow keys highlight the option Safe Mode With Networking and hit Enter.

Note: If you're using Windows XP, connect to your modem or router with an Ethernet cable, then follow these directions.

Thank you very much for the idea. Yes it has flash on it. I'll try re-installing it now.

Well, Shooter thanks for your reply. Flash/Java wasn't the problem, but I have solved it now.
