Hello, These odd characters appear from time to time. They aren't hugely annoying, so I've never done anything about them, but now I'm trying to communicate with someone who needs me to see something I can't because of them. Any clues what to do to get rid of whatever is doing it?

I just today found the solution to this. I use the Pale Moon browser, a derivative of Firefox whose options are parallel in this instance. I have a preference for clean fonts, selected one in particular, and in Options --> Content tab --> Fonts & Colors --> Advanced button --> "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" is a checkbox that's checked by default. I unchecked it, and that's why I was seeing the strange symbols. When I checked it again, everything displayed as intended.
