    Aside from price, what is the difference between OEM version and retail version of Windows 7?

    I believe you also just get a disk and a product key....without the fancy packaging.

    OEM, can only be installed on one PC, and is tied to that hardware for life, cannot ever be transferred to another PC when original one dies. No support from Microsoft.



    Retail, can be installed on another PC when original dies, this can be done as many times as needed. You get free Windows support from Microsoft.

    OEM is cheaper then retail ,I think.
