I double-click and get "search" instead of "open"--only when I click a disk, like Hard Drive C: or Floppy A: or CD F: and so on.

It didn't used to do this, so I must've inadvertently changed some setting somewhere, but darned if I can find it now.

Any ideas?

You hot ****, you! Sigh. Once I was a programmer (COBOL/DB2/JCL). I remember when I could razzle dazzle people with a customized little script.

Anyway, that worked. You have any idea how the registry got changed in that specific way in the first place?

No idea. But it seems to happen a lot, so if you get any clues, I'd appreciate the info.

Thanks. It's probably from some minor "oops" I'll never figure out unless I do it again and notice what I did.

So, you don't run any registry cleaning apps?

Not yet. I've been reading up on it. Don't wanna screw anything up.

You have some thoughts on that?

thepcjanitor, just curious, but were you doing any thing with editing 'file types', before this problem happened?
