How do I configure Firefox to open a pdf in Adobe Reader? Not in the browser, but in Adobe Reader. Rather than open the pdf, Firefox asks where I want to save the pdf. I do not want to save it, I want to open it in Adobe Reader. Firefox used to do that, but not now.

Windows XP, Firefox 8.0, Adobe Reader X.

I asked this question on the Mozilla and no help, thought I'd it here.

    Thanks.

    Steve

Thanks Phantom010. The second link pointed the way, Firefox now opens pdf's in Adobe Reader.

Go to Tools Tab and select Options. (Alt-T then O)
    Then select the "applications"
Scroll down to the Content Type "Adobe" and just click on the drop down menu next to them (should be 3 Adobe things)
There just select action you desire; as in "Use Adobe (default)" instead of "Use Adobe (in Firefox)" option
