Why do I have to go into the outbox when I am going to send an email? I compose the email and click send and then when I go to exit out of Outlook it says you still have mail in your outbox do you really want to exit? I would like to skip this step somehow and I am sure there is a way.
    Thanks for your help.

chewie from my understanding it always goes to the outbox ... I think this is a "send from area"... if its still there when you try to shut down Outlook... it seems there may be a delay somewhere. check your SMTP & your Pop3 ... make sure they are entered correctly in the server info

    Try Tools-Option, Mail delivery tab.

Make sure "Send messages immediately when connected" is checked.

    That's Outlook 2000, anyway.

Chewie, what version of Outlook? Express?

Open your email proggie, hit Help, then About....

Let us know EXACTLY what it says. We can help better that way. It's always a good idea to include the version and correct program name when asking--we can usually answer a lot faster instead of beating around the different versions/answers possible.

Are you at work? On an exchange server?

If not, you should have the Internet Mail Only install. Go to Tools-Options, Mail delivery and hit "Reconfigure...."
