Instead of having the date displayed within your calendar view as:

Is there a setting that can be changed so that it reads the day (ie. Friday 4 January) instead?

There must be because mine shows as "Friday, January 04" and that is the default setting because I just opened Outlook for the 1st time on this computer. I'll look into some things and get back to you unless someone else figures it out first.

Ahh here we go, it probably has to do with your regional settings on your computer. I know this article says OL2000, but it should pertain to 2003 also. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/195663 . Take a look at your regional settings and see how they are set up.

I just changed my regional setting to dd MMMM, yyyy and now my date in OL appears as yours does. To get it to what you want in regional settings click on customize, then the date tab. In the Long date format box at the bottom select dddd, dd MMMM, yyyy and your date will show as Friday, 04 January.

    Awesome guys thank you!

I had scoured through all the outlook settings never even occurred to try regional settings.

    Thanks again!
