Hi, I tried opening my Outlook Express and it won't open. I've tried everything I know of. I was going to restart
my computer, but it won't shut down either. This computer shuts down by going to the start menu and then clicking shut-down. But it won't shut down or restart. Does anyone have any Ideas as to what I should do?
chuck. It's Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
    Computer is a Compaq Presario.

    1. When did the problem begin? After installing, removing a program or hardware? After a Windows or program update [ antivirus for example ]?

    2. The issues may be related. If you re-start to safe mode, can you shut down?

    Boot to safe mode, please.

Try to shut down the computer.
