I lost my little mail icon that pops up when I get an email. You know... the one that pops up in the system tray?

I unistalled a few programs recently, but none of them were microsoft apps. I'm wondering if somehow a part of Express got removed in the process?

Is there an easy way for me to uninstall and reinstall only Outlook Express?

    Thanks!

    Hi msonberg

What operating system are you using?
    In Outlook Express,
Tools > Options > General tab
Is the option: Play sound when new messages arrive selected?

Do you have inactive icons in the Notification tray set to be hidden?
Right click on the Start button > Properties > Taskbar tab > Hide inactive icons > Customize button
What status shows for the You have new email icon?

this is what it was... I was actually tryin to help a friend and she found it shortly after I posted this. Thanks though! It WOULD have helped! So either way you solved the problem.

I always appreciate the efforts put forth by the folks on this forum.

How do you get a system tray notification of new mail? All I can get is a sound.
I know in Outlook you can minimize to the system tray but cant with OE unless you install a 3rd app to do it. eg HideOE
I would like to have OE in the tray whats the easiest way to do this?
