(Solved) Outlook Express Question

I hope I'm in the right forum...

I recently purchased a new computer, and when I receive email, I often see the sentence: OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: Blah Blah (name of file).

While I appreciate OE's exuberance to safeguard my email attachments, is there a way I can tone down the aggressiveness of the response? Or is it doing what it's supposed to do? It does it to all manner of files... .eml, .jpg, etc... while letting other similar files through.

Thanks in advance folks

agent i can tell you how to fix that...

go to tools, then click on options.
on the security tab, uncheck the box that says "do not allow attachments to be saved or opened tat could potentially be a virus"

and thats it.

p.s.- unchecking it just allows you to see or save the attachments such as pictures, etc. to be safe though, you should disable the preview pane, and apply any appropriate filters. i use the message rules in oe to have any senders who are not in my address book be deleted from the server... so they never reach my computer.
