I inadvertently hit the Outlook Express icon on my desktop. All my emails in my Windows Live inbox were then exported into Outlook Express and the emails no longer appear in my Windows Live inbox. Supposedly, I can import the emails back into Windows Live using the File menu in Windows Live. However, I cannot find the Windows Live file menu. Supposedly, I can hit my Alt M key and make the full menu appear in Windows Live. However, hitting the Alt M key on my keyboard has no effect on Windows Live.

    To sum up.

How do I make the File menu appear in Windows Live?
Once I get access to the File menu, how do I complete the import process from Outlook Express to Windows Live?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

In WLM there is an icon at the top right, click on it and then select "show All menus"

icon is between the brush and the question mark icons

Thank you for the reply. In my addition of WLM, I see no "brush" of any kind. Starting at the right going left at the top right of the page, I have a down arrow (drop down), a round question mark icon, a drop down arrow, the word "Options", a vertical line, a drop down arrow, the word "Messenger", and a two Weeble people icon.

Anyone know of any other way to expose the file menu, if there is a way?

    Thank you for the reply.

Those icons, including the paintbrush do not appear in my Windows Live Hotmail screen. Totally baffling.
What do I do to get the same menu or menu bar as shown in the above screenshot?
I am using Windows Live Hotmail. Is there any way to reset Windows Live Hotmail?
Does WLH have some kind of command center where I go to configure my screen?
Is there any way of getting version information for my WLH?
Isn't WLH web based so whatever changes MS makes, that's what I get?
Are there different versions of WLH?

Thank you again for the reply.

We are referring to Window Live Mail WLM

my version is 2008 build 12.0.1606

WLH is a web based email client you reach using your browser, this is completely different.

A screenshot of yours would be nice.

Oh, OK. I am talking about Windows Live Hotmail, not Windows Live Mail. Is Windows Live Mail a free email program?

Go to Manage Folders, go to New, type in name of folder.

Thank all of you for the replies.
