How do you request a read receipt with Outlook Office XP?

Click the "Options" button within the e-mail and check off "Read Receipt"

excellent - never thought there was another "options" menu within the email.

    Thanks Jim.

As a matter of interest - In Outlook Express, how do you disable the "overwrite" feature
(for example, if I try to delete something the words get gobbled up?)

Press the (insert) or (ins) key on your keyboard. That should toggle the option on and off.
