This began yesterday. When outlook is opened it begins a send/receive as per usual. Only it is receiving 700+ emails that date back to June. And it just keeps on receiving them over and over. I have received and deleted them numerous times. Actually, I've noticed that it doesn't always complete receiving all 700+.

I've checked the email account settings and all is well. I've spoken to the ISP (bellsouth) and verified with them that the settings are correct and that the webview version of my mailbox (ie, the server) is not holding/receiving these messages. So now what?

do you have a check mark in the box on the account Properties, advanced tab, delivery?
i know it leaves a copy on the server, but i don't remember when it send them again.
check to see if you have this feature checked or not.

Oops - never marked this as solved, but it was. Turned out it was a bellsouth issue related to a conversion. Took some doing on their end, and a couple of attempts but they got it fixed.
