Hi guys, I'm aware that there are pieces of software that encrypt folders via lockers and password protect these folders, but is there any software that neatly prompts for password on attempted access to the folder in Windows Explorer, preferably one that works with W7 Ultimate x64.

I guess I will never understand people's fascination with password protecting folders. Just give everyone who needs access to the computer an account and setup the appropriate file and folder permissions.

I've tried the first one you suggested, it created a locker, which isn't what I'm looking for, are there any pieces of software that simply only passwords on entry via Windows Explorer? So it would leave applications free to read the folder. And the reason I want it is because I have a sister, a very annoying, nosey one at that, even though I lock my computer every time I leave it, I sometimes seem to forget, maybe a social issue, but this is hopefully the solution. Cheers in advance :D

No way to do what you want, if the program can read the folder, so can anyone else.

Set the screensaver to engage after x minutes, set it to require password when you resume to the desktop.
