Hi all

I have a pc running xp connected to my Samsung TV with hdmi but I cannot get any sound out of the TV, I get sound out of the pc but no luck with the TV, I have tried everything still no luck, I have a 8800gt graphics card with 2 dvi inputs, I have connected 1 dvi to the pc monitor and 1 to the Samsung TV, pc connected with vga to dvi, TV connected with hdmi to dvi.
If you need any more information on my setup please ask.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

If you connected you TV's HDMI to your computer's DVI, the reason is clear.
DVI don't carry audio, it's typically pure video. If you already have an DVI+audio to HDMI adapter, then you need someone somebody who knows more about it :D

Thanks for the reply maceman, I have found a solution that I think might work.

What I’m going to do is buy a "Startech PC to Stereo Cable M/M - Mini to 2 RCA".

And connect that to the back of my TV which has a DVI to hdmi audio input (red and white) and connect the other end to my pc LINE IN input.

Do you think this will give me the sound I want to my TV?

Thanks for replying squashman
Yes i do have a vga port on the tv and next to it a audio port.
Do you think it would work if i use a vga cable to my pc and a audio jack runing from pc to tv?
what sort of cable will i need for the audio port?
