A few months back i added 512mb of pc3200 ram to my computer, which i lated found out should have been pc2700, but it never caused a noticable problem, now i have upgraded my computer and it now uses pc3200 i have 2x 512mb of pc3200 in my computer and i have 256mb of pc2700 ram that isnt being used. If i use the pc2700 in my computer will there be any problems? or will it work fine? Thanks.
Yea i was thinking that, higher works with lower and not the other way round. Just didnt want to risk doing any damage to my brand new internals, thanks.
Depends on the new board. Apparently your old board supported them both. Check and see if the new one does too. And if you can mix them, they'll all slow down to the speed of the PC2700.
From what i can tell my motherboard only supports 400mhz DDR, so if adding the 256mb of pc2700 336(?)mhz will slow down my current 1gig i dont think theres much point. Thanks for the quick help everyone.
