I was googling info on Outlook Express since I'm getting an error, and saw a recommendation to download Perfect Optimizer as a "fix". Has anyone heard of it and how can I know it is safe to download? It was on a website called <removed by moderator as potentially unsafe>

Perfect optimizer and any other registry cleaner or optimizer tool are a complete waste of money with the potential to seriously damage your computer
    steer clear of them

If you have a problem with OE then post in web & email where we can see if we can offer sensible advice that works

I have removed the links to save any unwary reader getting stung

There are a proliferation of programs on the internet and on TV ads that claim to be a "miracle cure" for computer problems. Most of them will do little-to-nothing to improve speed and performance. And the ones that "clean/fix" the registry are the most dangerous ones because they can leave your computer with broken programs and a damaged operating system.
