I have four Windows XP machines. One of these is considered my main computer. All four can see each other. Two of the four have the correct permissions to modify files on the main computer but cannot. The permissions seem to be correct. One of the four does not have permission to modify files on the main computer but can modify files. I can't seem to figure out these two issues. I don't know what changed but it used to work just fine.

Is it best just to rename the workgroup these four computers are in and start from scratch? Is there any harm doing this?
    Thanks.

You can configure all of them for Simple Sharing, which should simplify networking. Are you sure this is not a firewall issue?

    Thank you John Will.
Turns out under Permissions "Everyone" the only box checked was "Read". Once I checked the the other two boxes I was able to read other necessary files.
    Cheers!
