When I start windows after the welcome screen then the screen become pitch black.
Only the cursor there and I can move the cursor but when I click nothing happens.
I already try restart several times with same result.
I still can go to safe mode.
I want to try restore last known good config but I am afraid that then I can't even access safe mode
    Please help.

    Thank you

This is marked as solved but no description as to how it was solved. I have a similar problem in that all my icons are
missing. Basically a black screen except for the picture I have had there for years. Am able to do things thru task manager (ctrl-alt-delete)but thats it. Any help would be appreciated.

I would start your own thread, people will see this one is marked solved and will be less likely to read or reply to it.

If you do start your own thread I will make the same reply below there too.

For now in the Task Manager do File > New task then type explorer click OK. Do your desktop icons and taskbar come back then ?
