In setting up my brand new computer that was self-built through Nanosystems company I have had many problems with the OS. I assumed at first that my CD-RW problems were due to that. When I try to burn music to a CD through Nero Burning Rom it states that my drive is image only. My friend is telling me that they are now building CD-RW burners that won't allow you to burn music, even in mp3 format. Is this correct? Could that be the problem? And if so, aren't they obligated to tell you that when you purchase the CD-RW ROM? Thanks!

Okay, technically I'm working and can't do any checking at the moment. So the problem isn't the hardware? My friend says companies like Sony are making it so you can't burn mp3, but I built this system using "generic" parts so that it would be much more compatible for upgrades, etc. If it's software related, great, I can deal with it, but if there's any chance it's hardware related and I have to purchase another brand new CD-RW ROM I'm going to be pretty upset. And how would I tell, without installing it, whether or not it would have the same problem? Thanks!

Thanks everyone! It was a software conflict -- don't try to use Nero 5 with newer computers. I just didn't want to have to learn the new Nero 6, but I guess I will. :D
