    Howdy,

KHooker khooker.exe SiS Keyboard Daemon. System Tray utility which gets installed by the drivers of the latter day SiS VGA cards. Can cause errors at startup and isn't required.

If you are having problems with it, you can go to start/run and type in msconfig and then click on the startup tab. Locate KHooker in the list of startup apps. If it has a checkmark next to it, uncheck it (it does not need to be checked) and apply and reboot your machine.

    Good luck.

    Spaceman

Khooker is a file used by some sis VGA cards, you should be able to safely disable it from startup.
Click Start >>> Run >>> type msconfig and hit ok >>> when the configuration utility opens click selective start up and then disable it by going to the start up tab and unticking it.

You have a few spyware programs running that I can see and also Kazza which is full of spyware.

I am only learning to read these logs, so for expert help I would post your HJT log in the security forum and someone with more knowledge than me will check it for you.

In Hijack This, check ALL of the following items. Double check so as to be sure not to miss a single one.
Next, close all browser Windows, and have HT fix all checked.

    Reboot into normal mode

    Download KazaaBegone 1.01 http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3446

Kazaalite is the same as Kazaa without the spyware.
    http://fe1.edskes.com/k/klitekpp242e.exe

TURBOMEMORYCHARGER doesn't really seem to provide much help and take even more memory to run

Now download Spybot - Search & Destroy (if you haven't got the program installed already)

After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.

Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove/fix all it finds that are in RED

    Reboot

Last, run HJT again and post your log again to see if anything was missed.

    Thanks

    Clean log (y)

Altho you could stand to cut down on some of those start-up items. Which ones to rey really need started every time and which ones can you just as well start on an as needed basis?

This site will give you a good reference on what each program does and if it really needs to run each and every time.

I'd have this one fixed as well:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mapisvc32] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MAPISVC32.exe

It's an unknown, and very probably viral in nature.

Would you please send me a copy of that C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MAPISVC32.exe file for analysis, please?
If it's indeed all new baddie, we'd certainly like to forward copies to the developers ASAP!

    We'd appreciate it! :)

For a faster boot and cleaner startup; take out these items, they are not necessary:

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MoneyAgent] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System\Money Express.exe"
    O4 - Startup: Forget Me Not.lnk = C:\Program Files\Broderbund\AG Print\AGremind.exe
    O4 - Startup: Microsoft Works Calendar Reminders.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared\wkcalrem.exe
    O4 - Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WorksFUD] C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\wkfud.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Works Portfolio] C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\WksSb.exe /AllUsers
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTTASK.EXE" -atboottime

Then update your AVG antivirus scanner and do a full scan.

Ok, I just updated my AVG and it still hasn't found the virus
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MAPISVC32.exe

How can I get rid of it.
Otherwise everything else is working fine
    :)

Thanks for all your help. You all have been very cool.:)

Everything is working great now and I don't seem to have any problems. So I think we can call this one solved unless anyone else have anything to add.:D

Thanks again and I will definitely recommend your site to my friends.

    Later Days:cool:
