I was using my Microsoft Plug and Play mouse today and it just stopped responding. I've had the mouse since 2008 I think and have never had any problems with it. I have windows XP home edition. The laptop detects it when I plug in the USB, but the cursor just refuses to move. I've tried removing the USB, troubleshooting, updating drivers, and restarting my laptop. Nothing has worked yet. At least my PS/2 mouse is fine. Hopefully someone here can help me out!

Could have just died, have you tried the mouse on any other computer?

    Thanks Triple6,
It didn't work in my husband's computer either, though, I just tried putting in a different battery even though the other was not yet dead and that solved the problem. Lol, it seems one can forget to check even the most simple of things!
