    Good Morning,

I am having problems with my computer. The system started running very slow yesterday so I ran adware, spybot and ewido. I was still having problems so I restarted the computer and now the Norton Anit-Virus and Firewall will not lanch. I try to do this manually, but nothing happens.

Also, several of my desktop items when I try to open come up with The page cannot be displayed.
It seem that the pages that cannot be displayed are all sites that require me to log in. The home page will display, but when I'm asked to sign in that page can not be displayed.

Noticed on the HJT log alot of google toolbar items. I do not use a google toolbar. I do not remember ever loading this item.

Here is a copy of my HJT log:

Have been having problems with internet connection. The computer seems to work fine, then it will not access the internet. I restart the system, which now takes about 10 - 15 min. and everything will work great for about an hour, then no internet again. I have now started checking task manager when this happens and find that the iexplorer is gone, or at 99%.

I have ran avg anti virus, adware ewido, spybot. Corrected the few problems that were found, but still have the problem.

Just re-ran avg scan and it found trojan horse downloader.zlob.AFD and it could not fix. How do I get rid of this? It is in system volume information/restore.

    Please Help!!

Flush your System Restore after removing malware:

    • On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    • Click Properties.
    • Click the System Restore tab.
    • Check Turn off System Restore.
    • Click Apply, and then click OK.
    • Restart the computer.

To create a new restore point:
    • Start go to All Programs
    • Accessories, System Tools and select System Restore.
    • In the System Restore wizard, select "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
    • Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup".
    • Click Create and you're done.

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://aolsvc.aol.com/onlinegames/ch...ploader_v7.cab

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

You can remove all of the SmitfraudFix associated files and folders.

Okay, I removed the file from HJT. Not sure where to find the Smitfruadfix files. I check in add/remove programs and I do not see it.

Also to correct the problem that I was having early this week I uninstalled Norton anti-virus and Norton Firewall and installed AGF anti-virus and Alarm Zone firewall. Still seeing Symantec items in the HJT log.

I am send the lastest log.

Please let me know what to do next.

    Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!

These are the Smitfraud items you can delete:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\SmitfraudFix <-- this folder
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\download\SmitfraudFix.zip <-- this file

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    O16 - DPF: {3451DEDE-631F-421C-8127-FD793AFC6CC8} (ActiveDataInfo Class) - http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/asa/ctrl/SymAData.cab
    O16 - DPF: {44990200-3C9D-426D-81DF-AAB636FA4345} (Symantec SmartIssue) - http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/asa/ctrl/tgctlsi.cab
    O16 - DPF: {44990301-3C9D-426D-81DF-AAB636FA4345} (Symantec Script Runner Class) - http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/asa/ctrl/tgctlsr.cab

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Click Start - Run - and type in:

    services.msc

    Click OK.

    In the services window find:

    Automatic LiveUpdate Scheduler

Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK.
    Exit the Services utility.

Note: You may get an error here when trying to access the properties of the service. If you do get an error, just select the service and look there in the top left of the main service window and click "Stop" to stop the service. If that gives an error or it is already stopped, just skip this step and proceed with the rest.

That should stop everything you are seeing from Symantec.

Looks like everything Symantec is gone.

I would caution you on the O15's as Trusted Zone sites can load things onto your machine without you knowing or accepting them so use those sites with caution. I reserve those for banking and the like and only then if required.

Can you access secure websites now?

All seems to be working great!!!! I went in and deleted the items in the trusted site. The only thing I kept was the Mobile.coair.com. This is my remote access for my job.

Thanks again for all of your help.

    You have been great.

Donation is on the way...Keep up the good work.
