:) when I try to package slideshow to cd I get the message that the cd in drive is not writable, to insert another disk and try again. nothing happens.
have contacted microsoft but they said as it's a trial disk they can't enter into correspondence with me.

It's not really clear at this point if its a Power Point problem, a CDRW problem or a bad blank CD problem.

Have you tried more than one blank CD? Can you write to CD from other programs?

If you mean it's a trial version of PP, could it have limitations to it including preventing saving presentations?

Just to be clear here, you are saving it to your HD and then trying to dave to CD, correct?

no, on powerpoint page Sorry I don't understand this part

file-then click package to cd. there are no other instructions Just a WAG, but I bet the problem is trying to go directly to the CD

I'd try saving to HD and then try to burn to CD.

success after trying different makes of CD-RW disks I tried a cheap data only disk and it worked. Every time. I don't know why. maybe it has to be a data disk.
So thanks to everyone for their help, it was appreciated.
thanks.
