    Got print trouble.

Now got no printer but have been using the print to print to .pdf.
Added Free PDF converter - doPDF long ago.
    http://www.dopdf.com/

Then the other day I wanted to try out Firefox add-on Print pages to Pdf and did not like it because it would not work so I uninstall the add-on.

Now doPDF will not print to a .pdf file. Or will not in Firefox or Palemmoon
Had two options and the one is now gone that I think was windows.
    Only have doPDF from dropdown.

Now I can print to .pdf from notepad and the one other thing I see is add printer.
But it now saves the file as an "File" with the defalt windows icon and click on it you get "open with" pop up box. Ok it is 0 KB so think is a temp file and because of the error it was not deleted

    Get error pop up

When I get and close pdf-error-local_port then I get print-error.

    Edit:
I installed doPDF and got newer version but had to go to Admin account profile to install and then reboot.
It now works or works in the other profile and may of worked all a long but did not check.

Seems then the "limit user account" that I tried that Print pages to Pdf add-on screwed things up.

Just tested from the "limit user account" Firefox and Palemoon that do not print to .pdf with doPDF.
But they do print to .pdf with doPDF from the "limit user account" when I use the "Run-As" and open Firefox and Palemoon.

Did that but no good. It's just the one limited user profile I use all the time and it effects Pale Moon, Firefox, Thunderbird that I know of because it seems to work in all other programs.

uninstall the junk you have and install this instead
    http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp

that will put a pdf printer in printers list & all you need to do is select file/print from FF or any other browser or document & it will use that virtual printer instead of a physical printer

you might need to select it from the list of printers in the drop down

then save the pdf file where you want it saved

BUT I have often found problems with installing & uninstalling addons etc with FF running under a limited user account
what you need to do is first elevate the limited user account to full admin
do the installs or uninstallls & then switch the user account back to a standard or limited user

Both FF & IE won't allow full installs of addons to a limited user account
( well they will but they only put them in the admin account profile, not the limited user account profile)

    What junk?

Want to keep "PDF-XChange Viewer" so guess you mean "doPDF 7"

Looks like "CutePDF Writer" does more with the "Rearrange Pages and Combine PDF Files"

Requires PS2PDF converter such as Ghostscript (recommended).
You can get the free GPL Ghostscript 8.15

So guess I need this also.

    Plus you saying I should

Never had trouble with limited user account on add-ons before but looks like I did with that "Print pages to Pdf" that did not even work.

Now can I just go over to the Admin account and do everything and come back to the limit accout because this is not an add-on.

I love coverting to .PDF so be nice to get it back in limited account.
"PDF-XChange Viewer" now has "OCR" that makes it even better.

    Thanks for helping dvk01. :)

    dvk01,

Thanks a lot. I got it working.

Just got to remember to not "print to file" because it says not to.
This is a lot faster and less clicking then "doPDF 7" but miss the options to open the .pdf after you print but not a big deal.

Did not see the "Rearrange Pages and Combine PDF Files" options

    Marking Solved
