My desktop is a Windows/ME OS and uses USB 1.1 connections.
I was given a Dell Monitor (1704FPV), which I think uses USB 2.

The scanner HP 4470c : It comes up saying that it is unable to make connection.
The printer HP 959c : Prints about 5 pages then spews out sheets of paper saying that there is USB problem in Kernel22 ...

I have connected my USB cables direct to the monitor and also direct into the PC. Neither connections work.

Could someone please tell me if the monitor USB spec is incompatible with the scanner and printer ? If so is there a USB adapter that could be used ?
Everything else works with the monitor.
    Thanks
    Terryl

I have found the problem. I was using a USB hub as extra connections for camera card and the scanner. I connected the printer to the parallel port and the scanner direct into the PC port and it worked. The hub is now discarded.
