You guys have helped me alot in the past. Now I'm trying to help a friend.

She no longer wants McAfee, so I suggested AVG Free. I dloaded it for her, but I get "not responding" when I try to install.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Probably a silly question, but has your friend fully uninstalled Mcaffee before she tried to install AVG free? Some parts of mcaffee could be left behind even if it's been uninstalled "properly". I've heard that some AV's can stop other AV programs from installing properly, and running two at the same time can cause serious problems.

    Regards

Yeah, I'd recommend you full uninstall and remove McAfee off, then download AVG directly from their site.

Thanks guys. I'll try Easy Cleaner to remove the last bits of McAfee and get back to you.

you can also goto start - find [search] - type in mcafee - search - delete all the files of mcafee that is still in the system .
