Hmm... I went to log into Yahoo Mail the other day and it said my account was closed, too. Very strange coincidence. Lucky for me it wasn't my main mail account, but still... something's up, I think. It was an active account, too, not dormant or anything.

I've waited a few days now and it still won't let me in. I did the password reset thing, and it lets me change my password, but then when I go to log in with it, it says my account is closed. I don't really care, but I'm stumped as to why it's happening.

I've moved your posts to your own thread.

In the future please do not post for assistance in someone else's thread.

No problem... but I was merely pointing out in the other thread that it wasn't himself alone with the issue. Sometimes it's good to get that information, otherwise you try to solve something that isn't a problem on your own PC at all, but rather a problem with the service itself.

Yes I understand but you are also asking for help with the issue and the responders in the thread were replying to you and thinking they were replying to the original poster. It's no big deal but it can be confusing to those trying to help.

Ah, I understand now. I didn't see the other responders because I only view *my* posts here, and since you moved me away, I didn't notice. Thanks for clarifying! (y)

If yahoo is telling you your account is closed it may have been hacked. To secure your account click this link https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot/ & select "My account may have been compermized". Then click next & follow the on screen instructions to secure your account. If that doesn't help then you will have to contact yahoo using one of the contact methods listed here. http://gethuman.com/contact/Yahoo/

Hi mpeet611, as mentioned, I've done all that before. The compromise and password reset procedure (it even sends a confirmation SMS to my mobile phone). Doesn't work. After I specify a new password, I get this message: "There was a problem accessing your user profile. This is most likely a temporary problem that should resolve itself within 10 minutes."

I've tried this numerous times now, over two weeks, and nothing works. It doesn't matter; it's not an important account. I just found it strange that someone else has the same problem. I don't think it's a co-incidence.
