Today I began to print a document and after I had clicked print it said there was a communication error and it could not communicate. I checked all things that the popup window said to check and it still did not print.

The printer is a Dell V305.

I've had it for almost a year and it had been working fine. It's really frustrating because I can't see why it's not working.

When the print settings popup, I went to Find Printers and a window pops up named Find in the Directory. Message: The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the "service tag number" of that Dell printer?

What version of Windows are you using?

Read here. On the second page, you have to select an option before continuing on.

Thanks. The site did the trick. Turned out it was in the bootup when I set all startup services to come on. Really curious to how it got turned off though. Greatly appreciated ;)

I guess we can mark this one solved ;)
