I have used Thunderbird for about a year and love it. Lately I've had a series of unfortunate events. It eventually slowed to a crawl, mainly on the add-on program that gives me reminders about "new events" etc, etc. (on which I depend, and of which I cannot remember the name!) The reminders would hang forever. But the program itself also seemed slow.

So I looked up the issue and compacted all the folders. Didn't seem to help much. I saw that there was a new version of Thunderbird so I downloaded and installed that. It was ok, but the add-on was missing now and I didn't know what to do so I did a couple of system restores to get things back the way they were originally. But after doing that, clicking on Thunderbird just brought up the message "Thunderbird had to close unexpectedly. Sorry." This happened every time, even after restores. After the final restore last night, the message is gone, but when I click on thunderbird it just won't come up; nothing happens at all.

Sorry for all the background info....what I want is this: just the setup I had before, with the great add-on (what's it called?!) that reminds me of everything, and with the original Thunderbird. I thought I should probably uninstall/reinstall Thunderbird but don't want to do anything till I hear from experts. I have Windows XP pro. Yes, I'm backed up (Moz backup.)

    Can anyone help?
