Jolly:Think it would be very helpful for the techs here if you would describe your networking environment.
Make and model of your router
How ae you trying to coneect wirelessly(adapter card, make and model)
Is this a new problem,if so have you made any harware/software changes recently
    Are you using any firewalls?
Are you using any kind of encryption for security
The more info you can include, the better for diagnosis purposes

    ok, thanks for advice.
    here is the update.

using bt home hub wireless router.
    connecting wirelessly with a PCI 802.11 b/g adapter WN5301A
couple of freeware downloads done, deleted all, and done system restore. still nothing
using firewalls from : router, anti-virus and windows SP;2
    using a 64bit WEP Encryption

spoke to my ISP, and they seem to think its a problem with my actual machine, as others can connect and work fine with wireless.

perhaps i should move this (or some1 move it) somewhere else ?

    thanks again.

Just for grins, until one of the gold shield techs takes a look at your HJ log,
disable your firewalls and see if that makes any difference at all.
If not, then re-enable them and disable,if possible your encryption, see if that makes any difference, probably not,but worth a shot.
Another possiblity are devices like wireless phone close to your wireless device.
Also if possible, move your wireless device to another area of your domicile and see if that makes a difference, again maybe not,but worth a shot, while you wait for HJ log assistance.

Jolly:No problem.Glad you got the network problem solved. If you want to mark the thread closed,go to Thread tools at the top and mark it solved. If you wish to have a tech look at your HJ log(I'm not qualified) post up again and request a look at your hj log.

    Cheers
