I'd like to know how I can make it so that when I left-click on a link to a .wmv or .avi (or any other type of video format), instead of it automatically opening my WMP, I'd like it to prompt me if I would like to "open, save as, or cancel".

I know this is possible since I had it on my old system, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it back on this fresh install.

    Please help!

Try this as a test -- go to Folder Options > File types and find one of the media file types you want to force this behavior on.

Select the "advanced" tab and put a check in "confirm open after download".

Most file types have this as their default -- but apparently not media file types from what I see.

If it works for one, it should work for the others as well.

Great, I'll mark the thread "Solved" but for future reference you can also do this yourself using the Thread Tools menu here.

You're most welcome for the help.
