    Hey,

Can any of u help me out please?

My lap top was telling me it was running out of virtual memory, so me being a stupid bimbo deleted some programes, adobe and microsoft office publisher and others ..... then my lap top started playin up, so I did a system restore today, going back a month, now its asking me for the microsoft publisher 2002 disc.

When I click cancel because I have lost the disc, I get this message ....

Error 1706 Setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network, or CD ROM drive for other potential solutions to this problem, see D:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Office\Office10\1033\SETUP.HLP.

It keeps trying to install it and wont go away

Please can anyone tell me how to fix this ?

    Thanks a lot

Hi and welcome. First off, virtual memory has NOTHING to do with hard drive space, so, you shouldn't have tried to remove any programs. A system restore won't fix it either.

I'm not sure if this will help, but, look at start, run, msconfig, startup tab and see if anything there relates to MS office or publisher....if so, uncheck it and restart to see if the error message will go away.

Also, you might try to restore back to today........BEFORE you restored back a month.

You tried to restore back to today and that didn't work?

Did you look at the startup items?
